This is our fourth year for the Big Toys Area of the
Festival. This year brings you closer to
some of that ‘big toy’ action with events such as:
- Test
your skills on the Rock Climbing Wall
- Watch Crash
Dummies being put through their paces in a Rollover Simulator
- Strap
yourself into The Convincer accident simulator
- Try
out your hockey slapshot skills with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers
- Take
in the Professional BMX bicycle stunt shows

As you make your way to the harbor area and food court,
visit the Big Toys area located in the Armory Square
parking lot behind Archie Moore’s restaurant.
We have a great line-up this year.
Anchored by BRIDGEPORT HARLEY-DAVIDSON,
start by checking out the latest and greatest born-in-the-USA Harley-Davidson
motorcycles.
COLONIAL TOYOTA/SCION will be on hand with the 2008 line-up of some
of the best rated cars and trucks on the market

WYBC 94.3 will be
your radio hosts for the day spinning some great R&B hits & oldies for
your listening pleasure. And CONNECTICARE will also be there
greeting festival-goers.

|
|
The NATIONAL GUARD returns
with their decked-out Hummer, so have a seat in the Hummer and talk to them
about the possibilities with the National Guard.
|
|
 |
For a personal challenge (or as a dare to your closest
friends), step up to the ROCK CLIMBING
WALL where you can challenge your skills in scaling a 30’ wall. The view is great from the top! If you’ve ever wanted to try something
different – this is it!
|
|
|
 |
Moving on, you can test your hockey skills at the BRIDGEPORT SOUND TIGERS HOCKEY PUCK
CHALLENGE and visit with their mascot, Storm. Line up to take a slap shot in their outdoor 20’X 12’ ‘hockey rink.’ And don't forget to visit Storm, the Brigeport Sound Tiger's mascot
over in the Childrens' Entertainment area.

 |
At the invitation of our own MIlford Police Department, the CONNECTICUT STATE POLICE will be visiting with 'THE CONVINCER'.
If you are between the ages of 15 to 45, sign up to strap youself
into an accident simulator. You'll experience the impact of a 5 mph
crash and come away with a whole new appreciation for the safety of your
seat belt! |
|
Have you ever see Crash Dummies in a live performace? You will in the ROLLOVER SIMULATOR.
Every half-hour the Connecticut State Police will put the Crash Dummies
through their paces, using adult and child-size crash dummies in a
'don't let this happen to you' demonstration. The dummies are not
restrained and the child dummies are placed in varying seating
positions to demonstrate different scenarios. The Simulator is then
activated and spins to simulate a rollover crash. The dummies, when not
properly restrained, thrash about violently inside the cab and are
often ultimately ejected from the car. The demonstration is then
replayed with the dummies buckled up, which clearly shows the power of
proper seat belt use.

And don’t miss the BMX
BICYCLE STUNT SHOW, brought to you by downtown Milford’s TONY’S BIKES & SPORTS, will showcase
professional BMX bicycle stunt riders performing at noon, 2:00 p.m. and 4:00
p.m. Watch these riders perform bicycle
acrobatics while launching themselves off jump ramps. Tony’s Bikes & Sports will also have the
latest kayaks by Perception along with top brand BMX, mountain and roads bikes
for you to check out.
