Carol Farrell School of Dancing Carol Farrell School of Dancing
The A-team is a special group composed of alumni students of the Carol Farrell School of Dancing. Most of them started at 3 and have danced with us ever since. After over 4 decades of students, this years A-team is the biggest group yet and they spread the largest generation span. By being Carol Farrell students they can dance any style - jazz, hip hop, blues, clogging, tap, ballet ... you name it.
For over 45 years, Carol Farrell School of Dancing has brought the joy of ballroom dance into the lives of generations of students throughout Connecticut. An elegant workout for the body and mind, ballroom dancing improves your posture, broadens your social skills, and gives you the opportunity to spend time with your partner and make new friends. The Carol Farrell School of Dancing teaches the basic steps in fox trot, rumba, waltz, swing, cha-cha, polka, and all the dances you need to know to have fun at the next wedding, reunion or any number of social occasions. Tonight the Carol Farrell Ballroom Dancers will be presenting some of the dances they have learned in class.

Milford Oyster Festival Shell Decorating Contest Awards

Annual Milford Oyster Festival, Inc. in conjunction with Coquille Catering is sponsoring an oyster shell decorating contest.

Camp judging will conclude on August 3rd with the top three winners in each age group from each camp going to the final city wide judging and display at the Oyster Decorating Booth at Milford Landing at the Annual Milford Oyster Festival on Saturday.

Final Judging will be provided by The Milford Fine Arts Council.
Prizes will be awarded at 6:45 p.m.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in each age group.  Prizes are $100 - $50 - $25 gift certificates, and ice cream coupons too!

Over 600 Milford Summer Day Campers will participate at Meadowside, JFK, Calf Pen, Live Oaks, Mathewson and Orange Avenue Elementary Schools. Camps will be provided with oyster shells and supplies to create their oyster work of art.

timeless is a six piece classic rock / soul / r&b band. Since forming in 2003, the band has successfully toured the club circuit from Hartford County to lower Fairfield County with dynamic shows at many of Connecticut's hottest venues. The band members each bring their individual talents to the stage and together, form a band that continues to capture fans at every performance. timeless is well known for bringing energy, fun and good times wherever they perform, along with popular music that people of all ages can sing and dance to with reckless abandon!

Annual Milford Oyster Festival in conjunction with SoundWaters invite you to enjoy our Schooner Cruise.
Take a two hour cruise around Long Island Sound on SoundWaters, a steel-hulled three masted schooner.

Visit the downtown Milford shops and here is where you will find the heart and soul of Connecticut. Discover unique shops withe one of a kind products and owners/shopkeepers with a passion for their customers and their pearl of a downtown!

PEARL TRAIL-
Pick up your Pearl Trail at the Downtown Milford Business Association (DMBA) information booth located at Lisman Landing or any participating shop.  Follow the Pearl Trail and visit each shop to collect your free genuine cultured pearls.  Once you complete your shopping stroll, you will have enough pearls to complete a necklace or bracelet.
Pearl stringing kits are available for purchase at any of the participating shops.

Hebert Jewelers - Annual Pearl Extravaganza.  The shop will be filled with pearls, pearls and more pearls.  Shop until you are dripping with pearls!  Pearl and Bead stringing demonstrations Friday at 8:30 pm and Saturday at 11:00.

Lilliths Loom - Highlighting Fiber Artist, Raelene duPont.  Raelene has been weaving and displaying unique woven art for over 25 years.  She is known for her intricate wall hangings and distinctive heirloom quality pieces.

Makeup Makeup - Mineral make up demonstrations, how to’s and beauty tips from the pros!  Demonstrations are at 6:00 and 8:00 pm

Perfectedly Spoiled Pet Boutique - Dog Obedience and Agility Demonstrations, Q & A and Book Signing by Jennifer Bridwell, owner of Canine Connection Dog Training and author of The Everything Dog Obedience Book.

PLEIN AIR ARTISTS-

Many of the artists will be selling their work the Night of the Festival.

Al Leiper - painting in water soluble oils at Milford Photo.  Al Leiper will exhitbit his work at Gilded Lily.  Al Leiper's subject matter is inspired by local Milford scenes.  He has won many awards including two Best in Shows.  He exhibits at Milford Library, Seymour Library, Gilded Lily and the Firehous Gallery.  He is a member of the Connecticut Plein Aire Painters Society.

Rebecca Hebert - painting in oils at Bistro Basque.  Rebecca is currently working on her BA in Fine Arts at Paier College of Art.  She won best in show at Paier for her work in Trompe L’Oeil.  Her paintings are displayed at Hebert Jewelers.

Rosemary Markham - Painting in oils at Perfectly Spoiled Pet Boutique. Rosemary Markham has been studying art and oil painting for over four decades.  Her work in plein air is combined with reference photos in her studio.  The human figure has been her favorite inspiration.  Her work hangs in municipal buildings and private residences including the Palace Theater, Milford Library, Fine Art Gallery of Art Exhibits and Lyme Art association.

Michael Gallulo - Painting in acrylic at Hebert Jewelers.  Michael Galullo received his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Connecticut.  He received his Graduate Liberal Science Degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Ct.  Mr. Galullo has been an art teacher in the public schools for fifteen years. He currently teaches in Wilton, CT. He works primarily in acrylic paints.

Suzanne Kachmar - Painting in Oils next to Seven Seas Restaurant.

Daniela Balzano - Painting in mixed media at Given to Gauche.  Daniela lived in New Mexico and was inspired by the natural land forms and infinite horizons along with the culture and folk art of the native peoples.  She now resides in Connecticut and her work appears in various galleries throughout the east coast.

SOUTHERN CT RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL SINGERS-

Our very own downtown Milford Pirate troupe is back singing sea shanties from shop to shop.

Wave Shuttle
The Wave Shuttle will be available to bring you to Milford Center and Lisman Landing.  Parking for the shuttle is available at Wasson Field Parking lot, next to Parson's Complex or Milford Academy parking lot.
